Bar Aviation is a regional Ugandan airline established in 2008 with the aim of operating charter, schedule and tour flights to a range of national parks within Uganda. The airline has its head office in Kampala but is based at Entebbe international airport but has a secondary hub at Kajjansi Aiport with focuses on Kampala, Entebbe, Arua, Kisoro and Kasese. Bar Aviation operates with a fleet of Eurocopter EC130, B505 Jet Ranger X, Bell 206 Jet Ranger and Bell 421EPi aircraft as well as a range of helicopters. The airline also has an interline agreement with Ugandan Airlines to help boost regional connectivity within Uganda.
Bar Aviation has a different baggage policy for carry-on and checked baggage policy.
Bar Aviation hasn't stated if you are entitled to bring any cabin baggage, so you may need to directly contact the airline to clarify this. However, the airline may allow you to bring 1 personal item to go under the seat in front of you with a total weight of around 5kg. As the aircraft used are small regional aircraft with limited space, any cabin baggage will need to be smaller to fit.
Passengers are permitted to bring 1 checked case with them when travelling with the airline. Bar Aviation allows for a bag to be up to 15kg in weight, however, you are able to purchase additional luggage allowances.
There is only one class of travel available on all Bar Aviation services, economy class. All passengers will receive the same service standard and cabin product as well as the same seats onboard. There arent any other travel classes or fare classes available. All passengers will also receive the same baggage policies unless additional luggage is purchased.
Bar Aviation passengers can either check-in at the airport or online.
Bar Aviation does offer a web check-in facility. Simply visit the airline's website and click through to 'Book Now', where you will then be able to find your reservation. If you have checked luggage this will need to be dropped at the airport.
The airline also has airport check-in facilities available to use across all of their destinations. Bar Aviation opens its check-in desks from Entebbe International Airport and Kajjannsi Airfield 60 minutes prior to the flight departure times and closes 30 minutes before departure time.
We always recommend arriving at the airport no later than 90 minutes prior to your scheduled departure, even on domestic services, in order to avoid large queues.
Bar Aviation doesn't provide any inflight entertainment including Wifi facilities. This may be due to the aircraft being small regional propeller aircraft servicing short domestic routes.
It is unsure if Bar Aviation provides complementary or buy onboard drinks and snacks services. However, due to the services being domestic only it is not expected that a meal service both paid and free will be offered. We recommend you bring your own refreshments instead.
Bar Aviation currently doesn't offer a frequent flyer program.
Although the airline is not a member of any airline alliance, it has an interline agreement with national airline Uganda Airlines to help increase regional connectivity across Uganda.
As of May 2022, Bar Aviation only operates domestic services within Uganda. The airline operates to numerous national parks with its full route map including as follows:
