Entebbe International Airport (IATA: EBB) is the principal international airport of Uganda. The international airport is a public/military-owned airport that serves 1.5 million passengers each year.

The airport was opened by the British Colonial authorities and was reopened after expansion on November 1951. Currently, the airport owns two runways.

The airport is a hub base for Eagle Air and Uganda Airlines. The airport is located 25 miles (40.5 km) southwest of central business district of Kampala, Uganda.

Runways and Terminals

Entebbe International Airport operates two asphalt-surfaced runways:

  • Runway 17/35: Measures 3,658 meters (12,000 feet) in length.
  • Runway 12/30: Measures 2,408 meters (7,900 feet) in length.

The primary runway, 17/35, accommodates larger aircraft and most international flights, while the secondary runway, 12/30, serves smaller aircraft and domestic operations.


Main Terminal

Entebbe International Airport consists of two terminals which handle domestic and international flights. Entebbe airport provides a range of passenger services taxi services to Kampala, outlets of car rental agencies, baggage facilities and lost and found, airline lounges and a lounge called Karibuni which is accessible to economy class passengers on the payment of a $15 fee, a post office, disabled passenger assistance and several Wi-Fi hotspots which are provided and maintained by Uganda Teleco.
