Villa Air is the operating carrier for the Maldivian airline Flyme and is a subsidiary company of the Villa Group, beginning operations in October 2011. An operating carrier is the carrier that operates the actual flight - this means that when searching for Villa Air flights, flights will display as Flyme.
With Malé Velana International Airport as its base, Villa Air carries out up to 15 domestic flights daily across three destinations in the Maldive islands, as well as more remote destinations by special request. Villa Air also flies internationally to Bangalore, India, on a weekly basis direct from Villa International Airport Maamigili.
Baggage policies apply for both carry-on and checked baggage.
With Villa Air, you're allowed a free carry-on baggage allowance of up to 7kg. Maximum dimensions are 55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm.
You're allowed a free checked baggage allowance of up to 25kg and maximum combined dimensions of 160cm.
Villa Air only offers an economy service, proposing a spacious cabin, comfy seats and high-efficiency air filtration onboard.

Villa Air passengers must check in at the airport since the airline doesn't offer online check-in.

To check-in for your Villa Air flight, you'll need to do so at the departure airport. The agents at the check-in counters will be able to help you check-in. For domestic flights the counters open two hours before departure and for international flights the check-in counters open three hours before departure. Both counters will close one hour prior to departure.
Due to the short flight duration between the current available destinations, meals and snacks are not provided. A small wet towel and complimentary candy will be provided to ensure you feel refreshed upon arrival at your destination.

It's unknown whether Villa Air provides Wi-Fi onboard due to the short duration of its flights, therefore we recommend bringing your own means of entertainment onboard.
Villa Air flies to a range of domestic destinations across the Maldivian islands, including Ari and Malé, as well as remote destinations including Hanimaadhoo and Kadhdhoo. The newest destination to be added was Kempegowda International Airport in Bangalore, India - Villa Air hopes to add more international destinations in the near future.

Velana International Airport, otherwise known as Malé International Airport, is an international airport situated on Hulhulé Island in the centre of the Maldives and is the hub airport for Villa Air. Opening in 1960 as a single strip of land, the airport will soon be capable of serving up to 7 million passengers thanks to the construction of the newest terminal set to be completed by mid 2022.
The airport has been through several name changes - in 2011, it changed to Ibrahim Nasir International Airport in memory of Ibrahim Nasir, founder of Villa Air and 2nd President of the Maldives. Villa Air has used Velana International Airport since it began operating in 2011. Other airlines using Velana as a hub include Maldivian and Manta Air. Start-up airline BeOnd will also use this airport as its hub once it launches operations in late 2023.
The Villa Air fleet consists of entirely ATR aircrafts, with the first in operation being the ATR 42-500. From 2013, the airline welcomed two ATR 72-500s, taking on up to 68 passengers each. The most recent aircraft to be added to the fleet was the ATR 72-600, taking off in 2019.
Villa Air doesn't offer a frequent flyer program at this time.
