Unity Air Tanzania is a new start-up airline based in Tanzania. The airline will operate scheduled passenger flights and be based at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (formally Zanzibar International Airport). The carrier will begin by operating domestic passenger flights between Zanzibar and other major cities and islands in Tanzania and the Zanzibar Archipelago, including Pamba, Dar es Salaam, Arusha, and Dar-Dodoma. As well as passenger flights, Unity Air will also offer private charter flights.
Unity Air applied for its Air Services Licenses from the Tanzanian Civil Aviation towards the end of 2020 and, as of March 2021, is still in the process of gaining its licence.

Unity Air has requested permission to initially begin operating between Zanzibar other cities in Tanzania, as well as islands in the Zanzibar Archipelago. Requested destinations include Dar es Salaam, a major city and commercial port on Tanzania’s Indian Ocean coast and Pamba, a large Tanzanian island and tourist hot-spot which forms part of the Zanzibar Archipelago. The airline also wants to fly from Zanzibar to Arusha, on mainland Tanzania, which is often referred to as ‘the gateway to safari destinations’. The airport offers domestic and international flights from Zanzibar across Europe, the Middle East and East Africa, with airlines including Oman Air, ZanAir, Smart Wings and many more.
