As Salaam Air passengers are entitled to one piece of carry-on baggage with a maximum weight of 5kg. As Salaam Air ask that you bring soft luggage so that it fits within its carry-on baggage compartment. However, hard-cased carry-on baggage hard case is still accepted.
Checked Baggage
As Salaam Air passengers are entitled to one piece of checked baggage with a maximum weight of 20kg.
Additional baggage is available to purchase on all As Salaam Air flights. Please be aware that as As Salaam aircraft are relatively small and they fill up quickly. Therefore additional baggage is subject to availability.
Cabin Classes
The airline offers one class, Economy, but within this fare are different fare types: Light, Friendly and Flexi.
Economy
Light: 7kg carry on, no checked luggage. Flights can be changed, cancelled, or refunded within 24 hours of departure, with a charge of OMR 15 + fare difference, if applicable. A 100% penalty will apply after 24 hours.
Friendly: 7kg carry on, 20KG (or 30KG for Friendly Value and 40KG for Friendly Plus) checked luggage. Flights can be changed, cancelled, or refunded within 24 hours of departure, with a charge of OMR 15 + fare difference, if applicable. A 100% penalty will apply after 24 hours.
Flexi: 7kg carry on, 20KG checked luggage. Flights can be changed up to 24 hours before departure for no change fee. Up to 12 hours before departure, flights can be cancelled with a fee of OMR 20.

Abeid Amani Karume International Airport, formerly Zanzibar International Airport, is the primary airport in Zanzibar and the hub airport for As Salaam Air. The airport offers domestic and international flights from Zanzibar across Europe, the Middle East and East Africa, with airlines such as Oman Air, ZanAir, Smart Wings, Unity Air Tanzania and many more. The airport currently has one terminal, Terminal 1, which deals with all flights in and out of the airport. A second terminal is currently under construction.
