Excess Baggage
ZanAir luggage fees will apply if your baggage exceeds the maximum weight or dimensions restrictions. Excess luggage charges vary depending on the route. For flights to Arusha and Selous, the fee is 3 USD per kilogram of excess luggage. For routes to Zanzibar, Pemba, and Dar-Es-Salaam, the fee is 2 USD per kilogram of excess luggage. The maximum load allowed on the flight is determined by the pilot in command.

ZanAir is based at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport, which is the main airport in the Zanzibar Archipelago located on Unguja Island. It is located 5km (3.1 mi) south of Zanzibar City, the capital of Zanzibar, and has flights to East Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. Expanded in 2013, the airport now serves international flights from Africa and the Antarctic.
