Once you have selected the flight you wish to take, above the contact details you'll be shown if the flight you have chosen is eligible for a refund or if its non-refundable. Although non-refundable flights are cheap to purchase, tickets are non-changeable, whereas refundable flights are more flexible and allow you to cancel your flight with only the cost of a cancellation fee.

United has a 24-hour policy, where you can cancel your flight within 24 hours of booking at no extra cost.

How to request a refund for a United flight?

If you have brought our Cancellation Protection when you booked your flight, you can request a refund through the 'claim your refund' page. In order to receive a full refund, you must present proof as to why you were unable to make your flight. You are able to cancel a United refundable flight for a refund minus any cancellation fees. If you have purchased a non-refundable flight you'll not entitle to a refund.
