Plan Your South African Honeymoon
Considering South Africa for your honeymoon? As a nation that's home to dramatic coastlines, world-class cityscapes, exciting wildlife reserves and gorgeous wine regions, South Africa is up there on the list of top honeymooning destinations for newlyweds! But before you embark on this new adventure with your other half, there are a few things to consider:
When is the best time to visit South Africa? This depends on the activities you plan to do. For a safari, visit from May to September. For a beach holiday, visit from November to March. For whale-watching, aim for June to November. We cover this in more detail in our 'Best Months to Visit South Africa' guide.
What are the entry requirements? South Africa offers many types of visas that cater to different travel purposes. For a South African honeymoon, you'll likely need a Visitor's Visa that allows you to stay in South Africa for up to 90 days. More information on this can be found in our 'South Africa Travel Visas' guide.
What currency do I need? South Africa's currency is the South African Rand. Make sure you exchange your money before your trip and take some cash with you for smaller purchases!
