Smartwings Slovakia is one of 4 airlines owned by the Czech airline group Smartwings. As well as Smartwings Slovakia, the Czech company also owns Smartwings Hungary, Smartwings Poland and the national carrier of the Czech Republic Czech Airlines. The Slovak carrier was founded in 2010 as Travel Service Slovak before rebranding in 2018 into the current Smartwings Slovakia brand.
The airline primarily operates charter services to leisure and holiday destinations across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The airline bases its operations from M. R. Štefánik Airport (BTS) in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia but also operates numerous services from the secondary airport of Košice International Airport (KSC) in the city of Košice. Smartwings Slovakia operates a single Boeing 737-800 aircraft and previously also operated the Airbus A320-200 before later retiring this aircraft.
Smartwings Slovakia has different baggage rules for carry-on and checked baggage.
Similar to the baggage policy of Smartwings and its sister airlines Smartwings Slovakia offers all its passengers 1 free item of cabin baggage, which includes a cabin case. The included item must meet the dimensions of 55x45x25 cm and shouldn't weigh more than 8kg. Passengers booked on a 'Plus' or 'Flex' tickets are also entitled to bring a second piece of cabin baggage in the form of a small personal item such as a lady's handbag, small backpack or camera bag which should weigh up to 3kg and meet the 40x30x15 cm allocation.
If you have selected Smartwings Slovakia 'Plus' or 'Flex' ticket types then you are entitled to bring 1 item of checked luggage with you. This complimentary case must not weigh more than 23kg or you will be charged an excess baggage fee. Passengers travelling on a 'Lite' airfare don't receive any checked luggage as standard. However, if you wish to purchase a case then this can be done for 35 EUR. Please be aware that if the airline is operating a charter service on behalf of a separate travel company or tour operator, please consult them and their ticketing policies for baggage information.

Smartwings Slovakia only offers an economy class product aboard their aircraft. The B737 seats approximately 189 passengers laid out in 3x3 rows. You can expect comfortable leather seats with 30–32" (76–81 cm) of pitch as well as approximately 17" (43 cm) of width. The airline doesn't offer free drinks and snacks unless travelling on a 'Flex' ticket. The airline hasn't installed any inflight entertainment screens but does offer Wi-Fi at an additional cost.
The airline doesn't currently have personal inflight entertainment screens installed or overhead video screens. However, Smartwings Slovakia has installed wifi on its aircraft. You can easily connect to this wireless network to view the status of the flight as well as read the inflight magazine all free of charge. You additionally have the option of purchasing the airline's 2 EUR Wifi package which allows you to stream movies, and TV shows, play games and read magazines throughout the flight. Smartwings Slovakia offers a buy-on-board service from their inflight bistro. You are able to purchase a range of drinks, snacks, meals and meal deals at various price points. The airline offers crisps, sandwiches, hot meals, alcoholic beverages, tea and coffee and more, consult the inflight magazine for more details. If you have purchased a 'Flex' ticket then you can expect to receive a light meal complimentary during the flight.
Smartwings Slovakia passengers can choose to check in online or at the airport.
Online check-in facilities are available for Smartwings Slovakia passengers via the Smartwings website or via the Smartwings App. Simply head to either the app or the website and fill out either your ticket number or booking reference and your itinerary will be displayed. Simply go through the steps and at the end, you will receive your e-boarding card. If you have checked luggage then simply head to one of the bag drop desks at the airport to do so, if not head straight through to security. Smartwings Slovakia online check-in opens 30 hours prior to the scheduled departure. The airline closes check-in online 1 hour before departure.
For all flights departing out of Egypt and the Russian Federation, you are required to have a physical boarding card by the authorities. If checking in online please visit a check-in desk or kiosk to obtain this.
At the airport check-in facilities are also provided by Smartwings Slovakia, however, these may be operated under the Smartwings brand. Head to one of the check-in desks where the friendly staff will happily get you checked in for your flight. The facilities tend to close 1 hour before the flight's departure so please make sure you have enough time to check-in, we recommend arriving no later than 90 minutes to the airport.

Bratislava M. R. Štefánik Airport is the major airport for Bratislava. The airport is smaller than other neighbouring European cities, however, the airport still offers a range of European and international services. Smartwings operates direct services to Dubai and Salalah, Oman with flydubai also serving Dubai. You can also travel to Tel Aviv with Arkia and Hurghada with Air Cairo. Numerous European destinations are also served by Ryanair, Wizz Air, Bulgaria Air and SkyUp. The airport is served by a bus service linking the airport to central Bratislava as well as an international bus route linking Vienna to the airport.
Smartwings Slovakia previously operated an Airbus A320-200 aircraft but has since retired this in favour of using a Boeing 737-800. The airline currently uses a single B737 but has the option to charter additional aircraft from Czech parent airline Smartwings.
