Ryukyu Air Commuter is a commuter airline that operates scheduled flights out of its hub base, Naha Airport (OKA) in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. The airline was founded in 1985 and it's currently owned by Japan Air Commuter.
Ryukyu Air Commuter currently operates nine regularly scheduled domestic flights from the island of Okinawa to other islands of Okinawa Prefecture and the Amami Islands, Kagoshima Prefecture.
In total, the airline has a fleet of 5 turboprop aircraft consisting of Bombardiers that can in total carry 250 passengers at one time.

Ryukyu Air Commuter has a different baggage policy for carry-on and checked baggage.
The airlines allow one personal item, for instance, a handbag or laptop case, as well as one carry-on bag that doesn't exceed more than 45 x 35 x 20 cm dimensions in (Length x Width x Depth). The combined total weight of these items mustn't weigh more than 10kg.
Ryukyu Air Commuter passengers are allowed to take 32kg of baggage per person and not exceed 203 linear centimetres (length + width + height). Any additional baggage will be charged at the current excess baggage rate.
The airline mostly operates small flights and there is an only one class that is offered on the aircraft and that is the basic Economy class. The airline gives you amenities such as the one free checked piece of baggage, snacks, drinks and the option of choosing your seat.
Seats are placed in a 2 x 2 formation, ensuring that passenger sits by either a window or an aisle.
Ryukyu Air Commuter passengers must check in at the airport since the airline doesn't offer online check in.
Online check-in prior to your flight isn't required when travelling with the airline.
As passengers start arriving at the terminal of the airport, they will be required to hand in their boarding pass and then the airline will take care of their baggage. Getting checked in won't take much time but the airline recommends that passengers arrive at least 2 hours before their scheduled departure time. The airline crew from there will be on hand and ready to assist in the check-in and boarding process.
Freedom Airline Express isn't currently part of any airline alliance however it is owned byJapan Air Commuter and companies, for instance, Japan Transocean Air have shares in them.
