LAN Perú was a Peruvian Airline based in the country’s capital, Santiago de Chile. In 2012, the Brazilian branch of TAM Airlines merged with LAN to form the LATAM Airlines Group. LAN Perú was predominant in Chile and Peru, but also was one of the largest airlines in Latin America. It was the second largest airline for Argentina, Colombia and Ecuador. The airline's main hub was Comodoro Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport located in the Chilean capital.
LAN Peru had different baggage policies depending on the fare type you purchased and the route travelled.
LAN Peru allowed passengers to bring 1 piece of carry-on baggage, with a maximum weight of 8 kg and dimensions not exceeding 55 cm x 35 cm x 25 cm. Passengers were also allowed to bring a personal item, such as a small handbag or laptop bag, alongside their carr-on baggage.
The checked baggage allowance varied on the type of fare you purchased and the route. For domestic flights within Peru, the allowance ranged from 1 to 2 pieces of checked baggage, with a maximum weight of 23 kg per piece. For international flights, the allowance could vary depending on the destination, but it generally ranged from 1 to 3 pieces of checked baggage, with a maximum weight of 23 kg per piece.
LAN Perú passengers could choose to fly in Economy Class or Premium Business Class. Economy Class was the most standard fare type when travelling with LAN Peru. Premium Business Class offered more enhanced services such as priority check-in, and access to exclusive airport lounges.
LAN Perú passengers were allowed to check in online prior to the flight departure. If you were unable to check in online then you could check in at the airport check in desks.
LAN Peru passengers were allowed to check in for their flights through the airline's website or mobile app. LAN Peru opened its online check-in 48 hours before the scheduled departure time and closed a few hours before the flight. When passengers checked in online they could select seats and receive their digital boarding passes.
Passengers that can't check-in online or are unable to check-in online can check-in at the airport. This can be done by visiting one of the airport check-in desks with the relevant travel documents. Airport check-in closing times differ depending on the airport of departure.
LAN Peru, as part of the LATAM Airlines Group, had a frequent flyer program called LATAM Pass. The LATAM Pass allowed members to earn and spend points for flights, upgrades, and other benefits within the LATAM Airlines Group, which included LAN Peru.
The LATAM Pass has different membership tiers: Gold, Platinum, and Black. Each tier has different benefits including priority check-in, priority boarding, extra baggage allowance, access to VIP lounges, and more.
