Hub Airport

Aeroparque Jorge Newbery

Aeroparque Jorge Newbury International Airport is one of two airports in Argentina and the hub airport for LADE – Líneas Aéreas del Estado. The airport opened in 1945 and the first flight flew from Jorge Newbury International in 1948. The airline was originally built to solely serve domestic flights within Argentina, with a small number of additional services flying to Uruguay.

The airport has four terminals, with each serving either domestic flights, flights to Uruguay or cargo flights. The airline used to facilitate international flights. However, international passenger traffic became too much for the airport to handle and, eventually, almost all international flights were transferred to Ministro Pistrani International Airport, also known as Ezeiza Airport. The only international flights to remain at Jorge Newbury were flights to and from Uruguay.

Other airlines that use Jorge Newbury as a hub include Austral, FlyestAvian Líneas Aéreas and Norwegian Argentina.
