Inter Island Airways, also known as Inter Island Air, was an airline based in Pago Pago in the America Samoa. It offered passenger and cargo flights between American Samoa, Samoa and other neighbouring Pacific island countries.
The airline was based at Pago Pago International Airport and operated its flights with a fleet of only 2 aircraft.
Inter Island Airways was first established in 1993 and received its air carrier certificate in 1995. It began operations between Pago Pago (Tutuila Island) and Tau (Manu'a Islands). In 1997, the airline decided to suspend operations to focus its attention on expanding its facilities - it then restarted its flight services in 2003 when Samoa Air suspended its operations that same year due to financial difficulties.
In 2005, Inter Island Airways added another aircraft to its fleet allowing it to expand its route network.
Inter Island Airways lost authorization for ceased operations after not flying for over three years. Despite plans to resume flights, the airline has not operated since 2014.
Passengers were allowed 1 piece of carry-on baggage that couldn't weigh more than 11 lbs and be no larger than the combined dimensions of 115cm (length + width + height).
Passengers were also permitted to bring 1 personal item onboard such as a handbag, laptop bag or small camera case.
