Oslo Airport (OSL) is an international airport serving Oslo, Norway. The airport is equipped with two runways and a passenger terminal. It's located 35km from the capital, Oslo. Due to the airport's geographical location, many airlines have their hub here including Norwegian Air Shuttle, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), Flyr, Wideroe and Wizz Air.
The passenger Terminal at Oslo Airport covers 265,000 square metres. Oslo Airport has over 70 gates, of which over 40 are bridge-connected and over 20 are remote stands. The South pier was constructed in 2012 to compensate for the gates lost while the north pier was under construction. The North pier opened in 2017 and has over 10 gates.
Other airlines flying to the airport include, but are not limited to, Aeroflot, British Airways, Emirates, KLM, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, Thai Airways and Vueling.
From August 2022, London Gatwick Airport (LGW) has been an operating base for Norse Atlantic Airways. Gatwick Airport opened in 1933 and is located in West Sussex, England. Gatwick Airport uses a single runway with a length of 3,316 m (10,879 ft). London Gatwick has a secondary runway, but it cannot be used with its main runway due to its proximity. The airport has 2 terminals:
South Terminal has over 30 gates. London Gatwick Airport was one of the world's first airports with an enclosed pier-based terminal. This allows passengers to walk under cover to waiting areas near the aircraft.
North Terminal began construction in the 1980s. At the time, it was the largest construction project in the South of London, with a total cost of £200 million. The North Terminal has expanded nicely by adding many aircraft piers. It also has over 30 gates.
Some of the major airlines that fly to Gatwick are EasyJet, British Airways, Tui Airways, and Wizz Air.
Norse Atlantic Airways uses the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. It has a good reputation thanks to its high-quality parts, good cabin pressure, quiet systems, and general comfort.
August 2024
Norse Atlantic Airways has changed its fleet from the Boeing 787-8 aircraft to the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which is both a more cost-effective and higher-quality fleet.
