How to cancel JetBlue flights at Alternative Airlines

Booked with Alternative Airlines and need to cancel your JetBlue flights? No problem! There are multiple ways to cancel JetBlue flights on our site. You can either do self-service cancellation via the Manage My Booking portal or you can reach out to our Customer Service team who will be happy to help you cancel your JetBlue flights.


1. Self-service flight cancellation via 'Manage my booking'

Once you're signed in to Manage My Booking, you should see the option to send a cancellation request for your JetBlue flight(s). We'll show you the total amount of money you'll be refunded before you confirm your cancellation - this will be based on the fare rules of the JetBlue ticket you purchased.

Please be advised that the majority of flight bookings are non-refundable, under airline regulations.


2. Contact us

Cancellation Protection

Can I cancel my JetBlue flight and get a refund?

If you added our flight protection products to your JetBlue flights before checkout (such as Cancellation Protection), you'll be eligible for a full or partial refund. You can also get a partial refund if you booked a refundable JetBlue flight and need to cancel.


Refundable JetBlue Flights

At Alternative Airlines, we often sell refundable JetBlue flights. With a refundable JetBlue ticket, you can cancel and get a refund before departure, minus the cancellation fee required to process the cancellation. To see if your flight is going to be refundable, check the fare rules before confirming your booking.


Cancellation Protection

To guarantee a refund for emergency flight cancellations, we suggest adding our Cancellation Protection product to your JetBlue flight before checkout. With Cancellation Protection, you'll be eligible for a full refund if you need to cancel due to an emergency. Emergencies covered can be found in the Refund Protect terms and conditions.

Does JetBlue have a 24-hour cancellation policy?

Yes - JetBlue offers a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you book your JetBlue flight through Alternative Airlines at least 7 days before departure, you have a full 24 hours from the time of booking to cancel your flight, receive a full refund and not pay any cancellation fees.

If you wish to take advantage of this 24-hour cancellation policy, you need to contact us during our operating hours of 9am - 8pm UK time (GMT) so that we can get your cancellation request in time and process a refund for you.

Contacting us outside of these operating hours means we may not get your request in time, especially if the 24-hour window has elapsed by the time we've received your request. This means we may not be able to honour the 24-hour cancellation policy as JetBlue Airways won't allow us to issue the refund.

Please ensure you contact us between 9am - 8pm UK time if you wish to cancel your JetBlue booking within the 24-hour cancellation window and receive a full refund.

How do I request a refund for a JetBlue flight?

Refunds through Cancellation Protection:
You can request a refund for your JetBlue flights if you added our Cancellation Protection cover to your booking before checkout and need to cancel due to an emergency. To claim your refund, you need to prove you couldn't board your flight due to any of the emergency reasons covered in the Refund Protect terms and conditions.

Refunds through a refundable ticket:
You can also get a refund if you purchase a refundable JetBlue ticket from Alternative Airlines. Please note that if your ticket is non-refundable, as stated in the fare rules, you won't be able to request a refund.

What is JetBlue's cancellation policy?

JetBlue states that:

  • If you cancel within 24 hours of booking and at least 7 days before departure, you won't need to pay a cancellation fee and can receive a full refund
  • If you cancel after 24 hours of booking, you won't receive a refund but may be able to change your flight for a fee.

For JetBlue flights booked through Alternative Airlines, you can get a full refund as part of JetBlue's 24-hour cancellation policy but you'll need to contact us as soon as possible, preferably during our operating hours of 9am - 8pm UK time (GMT). This is to allow us enough time to get in touch with JetBlue and process your refund.

If you attempt to request a cancellation outside of our operating hours, we may not be able to process your refund request within the 24-hour cancellation window. In this case, you won't be able to receive a refund.
