Runways and Terminals

Runway 17/35 is the primary runway at the airport. It was reconstructed in 2019 after not meeting the requirements from the Federal Aviation Administration. After the reconstruction, the runway's name changed from 16/34 to 17/35.


Asheville Regional Airport has one terminal building that has undergone a number of renovations and expansion projects since it was opened in 1961, with the most recent updates coming in 2009 with general improvements and in 2017 with a large car park being opened outside the terminal.

By driving

Car rental and parking are both available at the airport. The main car rental company at the airport is Budget Car Rental. The airport can be accessed off of Interstate 26.


By bus

Asheville public transit bus South Route 3 travels between the airport and downtown Asheville regularly and only costs $1 USD per person.


By taxi

Taxis can be pre-ordered online or by phone and will take you to the airport. Taxis generally cost $2.50 USD per mile with a base starting fare of $2.50 USD.
