Western Air is a private airline operating domestic and international flights within the Bahamas.
Western Air was established in 2020 by an experienced husband and wife team, Captain Rex & Shandrice Rolle. It is the largest privately owned airline in the Bahamas, headquartered at San Andros International Airport, on Andros Island, which is the main hub for the airline and where the company also has its full service aircraft maintenance facilities and corporate offices. Western Air also has a second northerly hub at Grand Bahama International Airport, which serves Freeport.
Western Air operates up to 40 flights a day, operating domestically throughout the Bahamas. It also has plans to commence international routes from the Bahamas to destinations including Haiti, Jamaica, and Turks & Caicos, as well as Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, in Florida.
The airline operates a fleet of Embraer EMB 145 jet aircraft and Saab 340As.

Western Air has a different baggage policy for carry-on and checked baggage policy. Certain small items can be taken onboard for free.
Passengers are allowed one carry-on bag, which must weigh less than 15lbs and be able to fit in the overhead storage bin. In addition, passengers are each allowed a personal item, such as a purse, small backpack or laptop bag.
Each passenger is allowed 40lbs of checked baggage. Excess baggage is available to add for an additional fee.
Western Air only officially has 1 cabin class — Economy Class.
Before departing from the airline's facilities at San Andros International Airport and Grand Bahama International Airport, passengers can relax in the private terminal buildings, where cafe/snack bars are available. The largest private airline operating in the Bahamas, the airline provides an exclusive and seamless experience for passengers.
The Saab 340A have 33 seats are offer a comfortable onboard experience for passengers. The aircraft are ideal for short distance flights and are used for both island hopping and longer range travel. The airline's Embraer ERJ 145LR aircraft are long range jets provide a next level of luxury for longer flights, used for international operations.
Western Air only provides airport check-in for their passengers.
Online check-in is not currently available. Passengers will need to arrive at the airport with enough time to complete check-in.
Passengers are asked to arrive two hours prior to scheduled departure. The check-in and security process at the airline's terminals are usually quick, especially at the private passenger terminal in Freeport and San Andros. However, the airline still encourages passengers to arrive at check- in two hours before departure to ensure enough time to contact the local agent and be in the departure lounge for when the aircraft arrives.
Western Air's frequent flyer programme is split into 3 tiers - Silver, Gold and Platinum. Members of Western Air frequent flyer members will receive a number of rewards including fast-tracking, free seat selection, free coffee, tea or hot chocolate and many more.
Silver Frequent Flyers are loyal passengers who fly at least twice a month and have long-standing travel patterns.
Gold Frequent Flyers are loyal passengers who fly at least 3 times a month and have long-standing travel patterns.
Gold Frequent Flyers are loyal passengers who fly at least 4 times a month and have long-standing travel patterns.
The airline is not currently part of an airline alliance program.
Western Air is willing to assist and provide quality customer service to passengers with disabilities. If you require wheelchair assistance please contact the airline at least 24 hours prior to your flight departure time. Due to health and safety reasons, passengers who require assistance to walk up and down stairs of the aircraft must be accompanied with a caretaker.
Western Air offers scheduled passenger flights between the islands of the Bahamas, including Nassau and San Andros, Congo Town, Bimini, Abaco and Freeport, Grand Bahama, Cat Island, and Exuma. As well as scheduled passenger flights, the airline provides private charters throughout the Bahamas and the Caribbean, as well as Central and South America.

The airline has its own terminal facility at San Andros International Airport, in Andros. The facility has a private passenger terminal, which has a spacious and peaceful waiting area for passengers waiting to board. The Airport Bar & Deli is a favorite for sandwiches salads and cold drinks before the flight departs.
The airline also has a secondary northern hub at the Grand Bahama International Airport, which serves Freeport. Opened in 2015, the facility includes a private passenger terminal, mini-children's area, snack shop, and President's Lounge.
Western Air's current fleet consists of an Embraer ERJ 145LR aircraft which can carry up to 50 passengers. It's previous fleet consisted of a Fairchild Metro III and a Saab 340 aircraft.
