TUIfly Nordic is a charter airline based in Stockholm, Sweden and is run under the TUI fly Group.
The airline operates charter flights from airports in Scandinavia and Finland to fly passengers for the tour operators in TUI Denmark, TUI Norge, TUI Finland and TUI Svergie.
TUI fly Nordic was originally formed in 1985 to handle charter operations of Transwede Airways. The charter airline was then taken over by the Swedish Tour Operator Fritidsresor and renamed Blue Scandinavia in 1996. In November 2005, the airline was then rebranded as Thomsonfly and in May 2006, TUIfly Nordic was then created due to new marketing strategies.
TUI fly Deutschland, formerly known as TUIfly, is a German leisure airline headquartered at Hannover Airport. The airline is owned by the travel and tourism company TUI Group. TUI fly Deutschland is part of the TUI Airlines "alliance".
In 2007 Hapag-Lloyd Express (HLX) and Hapagfly merged to form TUI fly. TUI fly is a wholly-owned enterprise of the TUI Group, the world's leading tourism group with headquarters in Hanover, Germany. TUI fly flies to holiday regions all around the Mediterranean, the Canary and Cape Verde Islands, Madeira and Egypt for TUI and other tour operators. By the summer of 2014, TUI fly used 40 Boeing 737 aircraft to fly to these destinations.
