What are Southwest First Class tickets?

Southwest Airlines doesn't actually have a dedicated first-class fare, instead, it's known as Business Select. Generally, first-class tickets are the most expensive fare that you can purchase. First-class tickets often mean that there is spacious seating that has higher comfort levels than that of standard seating onboard the aircraft. Passengers in first class will also receive impeccable service throughout the flight where most requests are fulfilled if possible.

First-class fares are likely to be refundable and passengers will be entitled to priority boarding. Complimentary food and drink are served throughout the flight and an onboard care package often including a pillow and blanket is provided.

Business Select tickets with Southwest consist of a few extra amenities that the other fares don't provide. If you're more concerned with being comfortable and having everything taken care of for you, then Southwest's Business Select is a great fare to choose.

Seats

Luckily, just like traditional first-class tickets, Southwest's Business Select fare allows you to choose where you want to sit on the plane. Once you have been automatically checked in you'll have the opportunity to select your seat before any other passenger in the lower fares. Your boarding position is guaranteed and you'll be the first passenger to store away your cabin bags.

Food and Beverages

Unlike other airlines' first-class service, Southwest doesn't offer any hot food during their flights. They provide a complimentary snack service to those who are flying 176 miles or more, this is likely to include a bag of nuts or some pretzels. Just like in traditional first-class, Southwest supplies a complimentary premium drink for Business Select passengers, alongside the choice of soft drinks and coffee.
