Sky Alps Airlines is an Italian virtual airline based at Bolzano Airport. The airline was launched on June 14, 2021, over a year after its original launch date. The airline offers services to six destinations in Europe from Bolzano. These destinations are located in Italy, Germany and Spain. More destinations will be announced as the airline expands.
Sky Alps Airline is serving all destinations with a fleet of DHC-8-Q400, and it's operated by the airline's partner Luxwing. As well as the scheduled flights, the airline offers private charter flights if the passenger wishes.
Sky Alps Airline has a different baggage policy for carry-on and checked baggage policy.
Passengers receive an 8kg carry-on baggage that is not exceeding 55cm x 23cm x 40cm and a personal item. The carry-on baggage must fit within the overhead compartments and under the seats. Any item exceeding the permitted weight and/or size must be transported as checked baggage.
Personal items include a handbag, a backpack, a camera bag, a coat or a laptop. Prohibited items are banned onboard the airline and the area passed airport security. This includes any sharp items and fluid exceeding 100ml like hair gel, toothpaste, water, etc.
Checked baggage allowance depends on the fare ticket selected by the passenger. All passengers onboard a Sky Alps Airline flight receive 15kg baggage but Sky Plus passengers receive two 15kg checked baggage instead.
Any passengers hoping to purchase excess baggage can do so during the booking process with a small fee. It's often cheaper to buy excess baggage online than at the airport.
Lithium batteries must be carried onboard and not stored in the checked baggage unless the electronic device containing the battery is switched off.
There is one seating class available: Standard (Economy). There are up to 30 seats on the aircraft. All seats have padded headrests, with ample storage in the overhead bins above the seats. Sky Alps Airline flights are only short, as the airline only operates regional flights, so facilities and services are limited onboard the flight.
Sky Alps Airline passengers can check in online or at the airport.
Online check-in can be completed via the airline's online check-in website. Online check-in is available from 48 hours before to 2.5 hours before the established departure time. Have the ticket details and the passport details ready to proceed with check-in.
Passengers who booked seats during the booking process will be able to check-in 48 hours before the flight.
Passengers are advised to complete online check-in before arriving at the airport as it would save time from queuing and they would be able to obtain their boarding passes once check-in is completed.
All passengers flying with Sky Alps Airline must check in 40 minutes before the scheduled departure time for flights from all airports except Parma Airport and Bolzano Airport.
Passengers flying from Parma Airport or Bolzano Airport must check in 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
Failure to check in online may result in the loss of a ticket.
Currently, Sky Alps only offers a small selection of snacks and soft drinks onboard its flights. Due to the small selection, special meals such as gluten-free, vegetarian or lactose-free are not supplied.
Sky Alps Airlines isn't currently offering a frequent flyer programme to its customers.
Sky Alps Airlines isn't currently part of any airline alliances.
Passengers with reduced mobility, needing special meals or requiring any assistance will receive support from Sky Alps Airline upon arrival at the airport as long as the airline is informed. These passengers can request wheelchair access, airport transport, assist in boarding and disembarking, special meals and seat assignments.
