Shanghai Pudong International Airport, which is often abbreviated to Pudong International or Pudong Airport, is one of two airports serving the city of Shanghai, in China.
The large and modern airport is one of China's busiest international hubs; about half of its total passenger traffic is international. Pudong Airport is a fast-growing hub for both passenger and cargo traffic.
Pudong Airport has 2 passenger terminals: Terminal 1 is for domestic and international flights, while T2 serves Air China and Star Alliance airline members.
The airport serves as a main hub for China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airlines, as well as Spring Airlines and Juneyao Airlines. It is a secondary hub for China Southern Airlines.

The airport is located 30 km (19 miles) east of Shanghai city centre.

The airport offers free Wi-Fi. A Chinese mobile number is need to receive the wi-fi access code via SMS. If you haven't got a Chinese number, codes can be accessed from a machine after passing security.

Runways
PVG airport currently has four parallel runways. An additional satellite terminal with has also recently opened, and is designated to the Commercial Aircraft Corp for test flights.
Terminals to fly to
Shanghai Airport has two terminals: Terminal 1 and Terminal 2
Shanghai Airport Terminal 1:
T1 is dedicated to both domestic (on the right side) and international flights (on the left side). The terminal consists of multiple levels.
- Level 1: This is the arrival and baggage claim area, divided into three parts: domestic arrivals, international arrivals and Macao and Taiwan arrivals. All passengers who arrive pass through the arrivals hall, where several services are available, including: currency exchange, food and retail concessions, tourist information and ground transportation.
- Level 2: This is the departures and check-in level, serving most domestic and regional flights. The gates that serve domestic flights are from 1 to 15. The gates that serve international flights are from 16 to 29. The gates that serve domestic flights are from 1 to 15.
- Level 3: This level houses immigration and security check-in. In level 3 there are also managed international flights to/from Taiwan, Macao and Hong Kong.
Shanghai Airport Terminal 2:
T2 is primarily used by Air China and Star Alliance member airlines. Oneworld and Skyteam alliance airlines also use the facilities. It is easy to transfer between terminals using the shuttle bus service. Opening hours: 06:00 am to 00:00 am, with a 10 minute frequency.

How to get to Shanghai Pudong International Airport
By Metro:
The metro Line 2 links Shanghai Airport with popular stops in Shanghai, including Longyang Road, Lujiazui, People's Square and Hongqiao International Airport. Not all the trains goes to Hongqiao Airport.
By Bus:
There are bus services which depart from the airport and go to various destinations within Shanghai. Lines: 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8 and 9. Bus service runs from 7a.m. to 11p.m. approximately.
By Taxi:
Taxi’s can be found outside Shanghai Airport. Rates are dependant on kilometers.
By Shuttle:
Shuttles runs from both terminals. Terminal 1 (Gate 8); Terminal 2 (Gates 23 and 27). The service is operative from 06:00 a.m. to 00:00 a.m.
Maglev Train:
From Shanghai Airport there are services available on the first high-speed maglev railway in the world. It can reach a speed of 430 km/h. Shanghai airport is connected to Maglev Train through Lines 2, 7 and 16.
