RUTACA Airlines is a Venezuelan airline that offers scheduled and charter passenger flights, primarily around Venezuela. The airline is based at Simón Bolivar International Airport and Ciudad Bolivar Tomás de Heres Airport, from which it flies to several Venezuelan destinations from, as well as an international destination in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
RUTACA Airlines first began flying in 1974 and over time, built itself an extensive route network. However, due to the recent crisis in Venezuela, the airline has had to reduce its number its routes and the frequency that they fly dramatically.

Simón Bolivar International Airport is an international airport in Venezuela and the hub airport for RUTACA Airlines. Previously, the airline used Ciudad Bolivar Tomás de Heres Airport as its main hub. However, due to political and economic unrest in Venezuela, the airline was forced to dramatically reduce the number of routes flown from Tomas de Heres Airport and now, the majority of its flights come to or from Simón Bolivar International.
