‘QIWI Wallet’, also known as just ‘QIWI’, is a Russian e-wallet payment method that enables users to make secure payments online. QIWI was developed to empower security-conscious Russians to make payments online without having to transmit sensitive bank account or credit card details over the internet. QIWI Wallet is a simple way to transfer money, and receive and make payments.
A user can sign up to QIWI, by downloading the app on their digital device (mobile phone) and creating an account. Once a payment is initiated, an invoice will be created in the user’s QIWI Wallet account. The user can then choose to pay the invoice straight away, ‘now’, using their existing QIWI Wallet balance (or the card that is registered to the QIWI Wallet account), or 'later', in cash at any payment interface which is supported by QIWI Wallet.
