Kotoka International Airport is an international airport located in Accra, Ghana and the hub airport for PassionAir. Kotoka International opened as a military base, which was used by the British Royal Air Force in the second World War. In 1956, the airport had a major renovation, when its first terminal building was built. Shortly thereafter, the airport began facilitating passenger services under the name 'Accra International Airport'. A decade later, the airport was renamed Kotoka International Airport, which it is now known as today.
Kotaka International Airport is the only international airport in the whole of Ghana. The airport is split into three terminals — Terminal 1, which is no longer active, Terminal 2, which is used for domestic flights and all PassionAir flights and Terminal 3, which serves all regional and international flights.
Other airlines that use Kotoka International Airport as its hub airport include Africa World Airlines.
PassionAir's fleet consists of entirely de Havilland aircraft. The airline currently has two Bombardier Dash-8 (DHC-Q400) aircraft and three Dash 8-300 within its fleet, which have the capacity to carry 234 passengers per aircraft.
