Founded in 2007, National Airways Ethiopia, previously known as Air Ethiopia, is a private Ethiopian airline, with plans to launch domestic and regional flights by the end of 2018. The airline plans to fly domestically around Ethiopia from its base at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport to destinations such as Mekelle, Gondar, Bahir Dar, Dolo, Hargeisa and Mogadishu.

Addis Ababa Bole International Airport is an airport based in Addis Ababa and is the hub airport for National Airways Ethiopia. The airport was built in 1990 and deals with domestic and international services. The airport is split into two terminals — Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Airlines that fly out of the airport include Ethiopian Airlines, Sudan Airways, Kenya Airways and Emirates.
Terminal 1 deals with domestic and regional services for airlines including Yemenia, Qatar Airways and Sudan Airways. Whereas Terminal 2 deals with all of the airport's international services.
National Airways Ethiopia has 10 aircraft in its fleet with aircraft from manufacturers such as Fokker, Embraer, Boeing and Beechcraft.
