Mack Air is a charter airline that operates one scheduled flight as well as scenic, medical evacuation and serves a wide range of charter tourist destinations within Botswana and the Southern Africa region out of its hub base, Maun International Airport (MUB).
Mack Air will start operating one regularly scheduled flight from Botswana to Namibia and would like to also offer flights to and from Zimbabwe in 2021 to seamlessly link the safaris. The airline offers many charter flights within Botswana transporting safari enthusiasts in and around the Okavango Delta.
Overall, the airline has a fleet of 23 aircraft ranging from Cessnas and GippsAeros that can in total carry 288 passengers at one time.
The airline's baggage includes all soft bags, carry-ons, laptop bags, purses and other items. All baggage must be weighed.
Mack Air passengers are allowed to take 20kg of soft baggage which also includes hand luggage per person and not exceed 135 linear centimetres (70 cm length + 30 cm width + 35 cm height). Any additional baggage will be charged at the current excess baggage rate.
The airline mainly operates small flights and there is only one cabin class that is offered on the aircraft and that is the basic Economy class. The airline gives you amenities such as the one free checked piece of baggage, drinks and the option of choosing your seat.
Seats are positioned in a 2 x 2 formation depending on the aircraft, ensuring that each passenger will sit by either a window or aisle.
When passengers arrive at the airport terminal, they'll hand in their boarding pass and the airline will take care of their baggage. It may take a few minutes for you to get checked in. The airline recommends passengers to arrive at least 45 minutes prior to their scheduled departure time. The airline crew from there will be on hand to help in the check-in and boarding process.
As of November 2020, the airline is looking to have three scheduled flights to Namibia, Zimbabwe and one within Botswana. These destinations will include Gaborone - Maun, Maun - Windhoek and Kasane - Victoria Falls. The airline currently has charter flights within Botswana and the Okavango Delta.
