Lao Skyway, formally known as Lao Air, is a private airline based in Vientiane, the capital of Laos. It operates scheduled and charter services to airports in the country not served by Lao Airlines.
Lao Air was first established in 2002 as a helicopter charter service company. On 14 April 2007, its regular scheduled services began using the Cessna Grand Caravan. In April 2014, the company utilised larger passenger aircraft in order to serve the domestic airline market.
Lao Skyway provide a number of options for services, including passenger and cargo transport, medical evacuation services, aerial surveys, scenic flights, aerial photography services and wedding transfer services.

Lao Skyway has a different baggage policy for carry-on and checked baggage policy.
Passengers (adult or child) are permitted 6kg of cabin baggage for their flights.
Infant passengers are permitted 7kg of luggage which is a combination of cabin and checked luggage.
Adult passengers are allowed 20kg of checked luggage for their flight.
There is on one seating class available: Standard (Economy). There are up to 30 seats on the aircraft. All seats have padded headrests, with ample storage in the overhead bins above the seats. The flights are only short, as the airline only operates regional flights, so facilities and services are limited onboard the flight.
Lao Skyway passengers must check in at the airport since the airline doesn't offer online check in.
The airline does not provide online check it, so passengers will need to ensure they arrive at the airport with plenty of time to spare.
For scheduled flights, passengers are advised to arrive at least 2 hours before scheduled departure.
Lao Skyway currently flies to a small amount of destinations. In addition, Lao Skyway are planning to expand both their domestic destinations offering, with the potential to expand internationally.

Wattay International Airport is located 3km outside of Vientiane city centre in the Sikhodtabong District. The airport consists of an old and small domestic terminal and a new international terminal. Lao Skyway has its head office here and it is one of the few international airports in the country.
This airline is the hub for Lao Skyway but also Lao Airlines. It also operates services for a number of other airlines including Sichuan Airlines, Thai Smile, China Eastern Airlines and Jeju Air.

Lao Skyway (LK,Vientiane) has taken delivery of its first Airbus H125 helicopter thereby becoming the type's Laotian launch operator.
The Lao operator acquired two H125 from Airbus Helicopters(Marseilles) in August 2016, for use on both private and government missions, including domestic charter flights and search-and-rescue missions. The second H125 is expected to be delivered in May 2017.
“We are happy to find a trusted partner in Airbus for the past 15 years, and are excited to extend this relationship with the receipt of a brand new H125," Bounma Chanthavongsa, Managing Director of Lao Skyway, said in a prepared statement. “We are confident that our newly-acquired H125 from the same Ecureuil family that we have been operating will fulfil our varying missions, with its outstanding performance, multi-role capabilities and reliability”.
Formerly Lao Air(Vientiane), Lao Skyway is the only rotary-wing operator in Laos with a helicopter fleet that, aside from the H125, comprises five Airbus Eurocopter AS350B2s and four MI-17s. It also operates scheduled domestic passenger flights to Houeixay, Luang Namtha, Luang Prabang, Oudomxay, Phongsaly, and Sam Neuausing two MA60s.
