Aerotaxis La Costeña S.A. (La Costena) is an airline based in Managua, Nicaragua (the Republic of Nicaragua), the largest country in the Central American isthmus. The company was founded in 1999 by Regional Airlines Holding LLC.
La Costena operates passenger services from it’s hub at Augusto C. Sandino International Airport, Managua, to the following domestic destinations within the country: Tegucigalpa, Bluefields, Bonanza, Corn Islands, Emerald Coast, Managua, Puerto Cabezas, Siuna, and Waspam. As well as its Managua hub, La Costena also has a secondary hub at Bluefields Airport, which serves the harbour city of Bluefields, Nicaragua.

La Costena Airline has a different baggage policy for carry-on and checked baggage policy.
As well as the checked baggage allowance, passengers can also take personal processions that they might need during the flight into the cabin with them. The list of approved personal items include: a small handbag or purse, a walking stick, a small camera, binoculars, an overcoat or wrap, infants food, a reasonable amount of reading material, an umbrella, and an i-pad or small laptop.
All passengers are entitled to one piece of checked baggage, which must not exceed 15.88 kgs in weight. The total linear dimensions of the checked bag must not exceed 115cm.
The airline only has one cabin class, which is standard economy seating.
The ATR 42-320 can carry 9 passengers, and the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan can carry up to 50 passengers. On the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan, seats are configured in a 2-2 formation, with ample storage space for personal processions in the overhead storage compartments and under the seats.
When flying with La Costena Airline, you can currently only check-in at the airport.
Online check-in is not available and check-in will need to be completed at the airport.
Passengers are advised to arrive as early as possible at their departing airport, at least 2 hours prior to scheduled departure.
Aerotaxis La Costeña is happy to provide special services for those with disabilities or requiring additional assistance. The carrier will strive to meet the needs of passengers, but due to the configuration of the smaller regional aircraft there may be restrictions. It is advised to contact our customer service team before you book to discuss your needs in order to avoid disappointment.
Infants under the age of two, who will be travelling on the lap of a full-paying adult, can do so at 10% of the airfare of adult's ticket. The infant will not receive complementary baggage allowance in addition to the adult, although a stroller will be accepted based on the space available. The airline will need to be notified of the infant during the booking process.
The airline is not currently part of an airline alliance program.
The airline does not currently offer a frequent flyer program.
