Hinterland Aviation is a public charter airline offering both charter and scheduled flights to passengers. The airline was founded in 1984 and currently has its base at Cairns Airport in Queensland, Australia. In 1992, the airline was acquired by Trailfinders, a retail travel company, who led the airline into the tourism charter industry. Later in 2015, Hinterland Aviation was merged into Broome Air Services.
There are currently five destinations served by the airline with a fleet of small but efficient turboprop aircraft. As of July 2020, the airline is operating with over 10 aircraft in its fleet. These aircraft conduct over five thousand flights every year serving 50 thousand people.

Flights from Townsville or Palm Island: 20 kg free checked baggage allowance. Passengers purchased Shopper Fare will receive a baggage allowance of 35kg.
Online check-in is not available.
Airport check-in counters close 30 minutes before departure except for flights from Coen. Check-in deadline for flights from Coen is one hour 15 minutes before scheduled departure time.
Passengers must present photo identification at check-in. This could be a drivers license, over 18 card, a passport, etc.
Failure to check-in online may result in a loss of fare.
The airline only has one class fare: standard seating. The aircraft are small, with a limited number of seats (12 max). However, the airline is committed to ensuring you will be comfortable during your flight.
On-board facilities are limited.
Relax in comfortable seating. The cabins have been designed to be both generous in space and refined in style, with contoured cabin chairs to offer the greatest comfort possible.
The airline does not currently offer a frequent flyer programme for its passengers.
Hinterland Aviation is not a part of any airline alliances.

Cairns International Airport (CNS) serves both domestic and regional destinations. It has two passenger terminals and one runway in service, serving five million passengers per year. The airport is not too far from the centre of Cairns, it is situated 2.6 miles from the city. It serves over 20 domestic and international destinations from the airport, as well as many general aviation operations.
Airlines flying to and from Cairn International Airport include Air New Zealand, Air Niugini, Air North, Alliance Airlines, Hainan Airlines, Jetstar, Qantas, Regional Express, SilkAir, Skytrans, Tigerair,Virgin Australiaand West Wing Aviation.
As of June 2020, Hinterland Aviation operates a fleet of Cessna 310, Cessna 402, Cessna 404, Cessna 208 and Beechcraft King Air 200. These aircraft are all efficient small turboprops for short-distances travel. Their fleet has the capacity to fly between 1,630 to 3,740km and fly as high as 35 thousand feet.
Pets are allowed onboard Hinterland Aviation flights, but it is subject to approval by the crew and other passengers onboard in case of any possible allergies or medical conditions.
All pets must stay in a secured cage no larger than 730mm x 450mm x 540mm. Only small pets are allowed including dogs, cats, birds, etc.
