Great Dane Airlines is a new Danish airline which started services in mid-2019. This airline, which was founded in 2018, is based in Aalborg, Denmark and operate flights to destinations across Denmark, but also to Edinburgh, Dublin and Nice.
This airline was initially owned by Thomas Hugo Moller and Huy Duc Nguyen, but Huy Duc Nguyen left the company and the company is now owned by Thomas Hugo Moller and Eigild Bødker Christensen.
Great Dane Airlines operates its services from its fleet of two aircraft, providing both scheduled and charter services.
Great Dane Airlines has a different baggage policy for carry-on and checked baggage policy.
All passengers are entitled to an 8kg hand baggage that is not exceeding 55cm x 35cm x 25cm, and a personal item onboard the aircraft.
Depending on space availability, passengers may be asked to store hand baggage in the cargo hold of the aircraft for free. Plus, any baggage exceeding the hand baggage limit would be asked to be transported as checked baggage.
Checked baggage allowance varies from operator to operator, so please check your e-ticket for the baggage allowance for your ticket or contact us if you've booked with Alternative Airlines.
As a general rule, passengers purchased 'Economy Extra' and 'Full Flex' tickets would receive one 20kg checked baggage. Any baggage exceeding 32kg wouldn't be accepted due to international health and safety regulations. Excess baggage can be added to the booking at checkout when buying flights with Alternative Airlines.
Passengers are advised not to store any valuables or fragile items in their checked baggage as the airline as limited responsibility for the loss of or damage to the checked baggage.
Great Dane Airlines only offers Economy Class, however passengers can choose to add additional services to their booking.
Passengers bought economy tickets are only entitled to one free carry-on baggage, but it's the cheapest fare out of the three fare classes.
One carry-on baggage is allowed as well as a 20kg checked baggage for the flight. Tickets are non-refundable and any amendments to the ticket would have a fee applied.
"Full Flex" allows passengers to have all the benefits of the other classes as well as free name change, flight amendments, seat reservation and tickets are fully refundable.
Great Dane Airlines passengers can check in at the airport or using the airlines online check-in service.
Online check-in opens 24 hours before and closes two hours before established departure time, and it can be done via the airline website. Passengers are recommended to check-in at the airport as it could avoid long queues at the airport.
Please prepare your e-ticket and travel document's details when completing the online check-in process.
If online check-in is not completed, passengers must check-in at the airport. Airport check-in counters close 40 minutes before departure. At Alternative Airlines, we recommend passengers to check-in two hours before departure time. Failure to follow the airline's check-in deadline and requirements might be denied boarding.
As a charter airline, the airline doesn't offer any a frequent flyer programme to passengers.
