Glasgow Airport, or Glasgow International Airport (IATA: GLA) is an international airport located just outside the city of Glasgow, Scotland. The airport is currently the second-busiest airport in Scotland, and the eighth-busiest airport in the UK, with 9.9 million passengers in 2017.
The airport was built and officially opened in 1966 by Queen Elizabeth II, with the first commercial flight being a British European Airways flight from Edinburgh. In the current day, the airport serves a number of destinations in Europe, North America and the Middle East with a number of airlines having bases at the airport including Loganair, TUI Airways, Thomas Cook Airlines, Jet2 and easyJet.
The airport is located in Paisley, Renfrewshire, which is found nearly 10 miles west of Glasgow city centre.
