FlyNordic was a low-cost airline based in Sweden that operated between 1996 and 2008. It primarily offered scheduled and charter services within Scandinavia and Europe. FlyNordic was founded in 1996 and quickly gained popularity for its cheap fares.
In 2000, the airline faced financial difficulties and had its operating licence revoked. It did relaunch shortly after as Nordic East, later being acquired by Finnair in 2003. Unfortunately, FlyNordic went bankrupt again in 2005. FlyNordic was revived a second time in 2005 by Nordic Airlink Holding, another Finnair subsidiary. The airline lasted 2 years until it was acquired by Norwegian Air Shuttle, making Norwegian the largest low-cost airline in Scandinavia at the time.
FlyNordic was fully integrated into Norwegian Air Shuttle in 2008, marking the end of FlyNordic as a separate brand and all of its routes and aircraft being absorbed by Norwegian.
For flights within Scandinavia and flights to/from other parts of Europe, passengers were allowed to bring 1 piece of hand luggage weighing no more than 8kg and not exceeding the maximum dimensions of 55 x 40 x 23cm.
For flights within Scandinavia, passengers could bring 1 piece of checked baggage weighing no more than 30kg.
For flights to/from other parts of Europe, passengers were permitted 1 piece of checked baggage weighing no more than 20kg.
Extra charges applied if passengers wanted to bring more than 1 piece of checked baggage each.
FlyNordic did not have online check-in. Passengers would have to check-in at the airport.
FlyNordic's check-in counters would close 30 minutes before departure for domestic flights, 40 minutes before departure for flights to/from Copenhagen, and 1 hour before departure for all international flights.
FlyNordic operated flights to popular destinations including Spain, Canary Islands, Portugal, Greece, Egypt and Turkey, among others.

Stockholm-Arlanda Airport is currently a hub for SAS Scandinavian Airlines. It's also a key airport for Eurowings, Finnair, Norwegian Air Sweden and Ryanair.
