United Nigeria Airlines is a new private domestic airline in Nigeria. The airline was established in 2020 and received its Air Operators Certificate (AOC) in February 2021. As of May 2022, the airline operates flights to a number of domestic cities within Nigeria.

The airline is based at Enugu International Airport, which serves the city of Enugu — the capital of Enugu State in Nigeria. United Nigeria Airlines is currently operating regular scheduled flights between six Nigerian cities: Abuja, Asaba, Enugu, Port-Harcourt, Owerri, and Lagos.

United Nigeria Airlines first commenced operations on February 12th 2021, with its inaugural flight from Murtala Muhammed International Airport (Ikeja, in Lagos State) to Akanu Ibiam International Airport (Enugu, Enugu State).

United Nigeria Airlines uses four 50-seater Embraer ERJ-145LR aircraft for its scheduled passenger flights.

Baggage Policy

United Nigerian Airlines accept both carry-on and checked baggage, offering 20kg or 40kg complimentary depending on the cabin class.

Carry-on Baggage

All adults are entitled to one piece of carry-on baggage into the cabin. The cabin bag must not weigh more than 6kg in Economy class, and 10kg in Business class. Cabin bags must not exceed 45x33x20 cm in dimension.

In addition to the cabin bag allowance, you can also carry-on a purse or small handbag or Laptop for free.

All carry-on items are subject to airport security checks, so please be sure that there are no prohibited items stored in your carry-on baggage.

Checked Baggage

You are entitled to 20kg of complimentary checked baggage allowance in the Economy Class cabin, and 40kg in Business class.

If you're travelling with an infant, you'll receive an additional 10kg of baggage when you fly with United Nigeria.

Each piece of checked baggage must not exceed 32kg (70lbs), otherwise, the airline may not accept the piece of baggage.

Cabin Classes

United Nigerian Airlines only officially has 1 cabin class — Economy Class.

Economy Class

In Economy class, passengers can enjoy a light, bright, and comfortable cabin. Passengers will be attended to by the airline's experienced flight attendants.

Within Economy class, there are three ticket fares available: Economy Promo, Economy Saver, and Economy Flex. Although the onboard experience will be the same, the three tiers offer different levels of flexibility.

Facilities

Equipped with a galley, on-board snacks and beverages are available for purchase during the flight.

WiFi: Wifi is not currently available on flights with this airline.

What are seats like?

There is plenty of storage above the seats in the overheard containers and under the seats. Seats are configured in a 2-1 formation.

Check-In

United Nigeria Airlines offer its passengers the choice to check in either at the airport or online, however, if customers fail to check in before the deadline, United Nigeria may not let you board.

Online Check-in

Online check-in is available through the airline's website, and opens 24 hours prior to the flight departure time. Online check-in will close 1 hour before flight departure. To check-in for a United Nigerian flight online, passengers must provide their surname and booking reference.

You're recommended to check-in online before your flight as it'd save you time from queuing at the airport. And you might obtain your boarding pass once online check-in is completed, which means you may directly report to airport security if you have no luggage to check-in.

Airport Check-in

Airport check-in opens 2 hours before, and closes 30 minutes before the flight departs.

If you fail to check-in before the check-in deadline, United Nigeria Airlines has the right to refuse you to board. Therefore, please report to the airline check-in counters as soon as you arrive at the airport. The check-in area will be indicated on the airport departure information board.

The airline does not currently offer a frequent flyer program.

Airline Alliance

The airline is not currently part of an airline alliance.

In March 2022 it was announced that United Nigeria Airlines signed a partnership agreement with Air Peace and 6 other Nigerian airlines that operate domestic flights within the country. These included Azman Air, Arik Air, Aero Contractors, and Max Air. The partnership will help cover passengers when flights are cancelled as well as help reduce delays and cancellations in the first place.

United Nigeria Airlines has launched flights

New Nigerian carrier, United Nigeria Airlines, commenced operations from Lagos on February 12th 2021. The inaugural flight took off from Lagos and flew to Enugu. United Nigeria Airlines received its Air Operators Certificate (AOC) from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) on February the 1st, 2021. The airline has a long-term plan to expand its route network in the future.
