Solomon Airlines, also known as Fly Solomons, is the national carrier of the Solomon Islands. The airline's roots date back to 1962, and it has played a significant role in championing tourism in the Solomon Islands with great pride
The airline serves domestic flights and international services to Brisbane, Nadi, Nauru and Port Vila.
Solomon Airlines currently operates regular return services from Honiara to Brisbane-Australia, Nadi-Fiji (own aircraft and codeshare), Port Vila, Vanuatu (codeshare only), Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.
Solomon Airlines also operates an extensive domestic network around the Solomon Islands.
All passengers are permitted 1 free piece of cabin baggage onboard their flight.
For domestic flights, passengers are allowed to bring one bag weighing no more than 5kg and not exceeding dimensions of 48 x 34 x 23 cm (width x height x depth).
For international flights in Economy class, passengers can bring one piece of carry-on baggage weighing no more than 7kg and not exceeding the maximum dimensions of 48 x 34 x 23 cm (width x height x depth).
For international flights in Business class, passengers can take one bag weighing no more than 10kg and no larger than 56 x 36 x 23 cm (width x height x depth).
Please note that all cabin baggage must fit underneath the seat in front of you or in the overhead locker - this includes musical instruments.
Checked baggage is permitted on flights with Solomon Airlines.
Domestic Flights:
Up to 16kg per checked baggage for all fare types.
International Flights:
Economy passengers are permitted up to 30kg per checked baggage as standard. Belama Club members can take up to 40kg per bag, while Belama Plus members can take up to 50kg per bag.
Business passengers are permitted up to 40kg per checked baggage as standard. Belama Club members can take up to 50kg per bag, while Belama Plus members can take up to 60kg per bag.
Children are entitled to the same baggage allowances as adults.
Solomon Airlines currently only offers one method of check-in for its flights.
Online check-in isn't available yet with Solomon Airlines. To check in for your flight, you will need to do so at the airport.
Check-in counters for Solomon Airlines flights will open and close at various times depending on your destinations.
Domestic Flights:
Check-in counters will be open 90 minutes before takeoff and close 30 minutes before departure.
International Flights:
If you're travelling from Brisbane or Honiara, check-in will open 3 hours before departure. For departures from Port Vila or Nadi, check-in will be open 2.5 hours before takeoff.
Check-in for all Solomon Airlines international flights will close 45 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
Solomon Airlines has two cabin classes to choose from - these are Economy and Business.
In the airline's Economy class, you'll find comfortable seating with adjustable headrests and spacious legroom. There is a complimentary meal service alongside non-alcoholic drinks on international flights.
Business Class with the airline offers more spacious, comfortable seating. Seats can fully recline on select aircraft. There is a complimentary meal service served with beverages and alcoholic drinks on international flights.
Benefits to Business Class include priority check-in and boarding as well as exclusive access to VIP airport lounges.
Due to the type of aircraft the airline operates, in-flight entertainment is not provided on board flights with Solomon Airlines.
To keep yourself entertained, we suggest bringing your own forms of entertainment on board with you. This could include books, magazines and your favourite TV shows/movies downloaded onto your portable devices.
Solomon Airlines doesn't currently provide Wi-Fi onboard.
Solomon Airlines has its own frequent flyer program called 'Belama Club'. The club offers members exclusive benefits such as priority check-in and seat selection.
Unfortunately, the Belama Club has been temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Solomon Airlines is to begin flights again to and from Choiseul Airfield following its renovations. Upgrades were made to the runway by resurfacing and reconstructing sections that needed improvement. Flights can now recommence and return to the usual schedule.
