Libyan Airlines, الخطوط الجوية الليبية, was founded in 1964 and is the flag carrier of Libya. It was originally known as Libyan Arab Airlines until 2006 where they renamed to their current form. The airline is based in Tripoli, but operates services to Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.

Tripoli International Airport is an international airport serving Tripoli and it’s surrounding areas. After the Libyan Civil War which resulted in closures from mid-2014 due to much damage to the building and aircraft, it was announced in July 2018 that reconstruction work will commence at the airport, resuming some commercial services. This airport was also the hub for Afriqiyah Airways, Buraq Air, and Ghadames Air Transport. Berneeq Fly and MedSky Airways are new Libyan airlines that may operate services out of this airport.
The fleet currently consist of Airbus and Bombardier aircraft, with more in development plans including Boeings.
