Eritrean Airlines is the national airline of Eritrea, a country in East Africa. It is based at Asmara International Airport and is wholly owned by the government of Eritrea. The airline used to operate scheduled passenger flights to several cities in Europe and the Middle East, however, as of 2008 the airline no longer operates scheduled services.
In 2011, the airline came under new management and merged with Nasair forming Nasair Eritrea. Nasair Eritrea no longer operates. Since 2012, Eritrean Airlines has been banned from flying within the European Union (EU).

Baggage Policy
Carry-on baggage and checked baggage were permitted on flights operated by Eritrean Airlines.
Carry-on Baggage
Passengers were allowed 1 piece of carry-on baggage weighing no more than 10kg and not exceeding the linear dimension of 62 inches.
Checked Baggage
Passengers were permitted 2 pieces of checked baggage each weighing no more than 23kg and not exceeding the linear dimension of 107 inches.
Cabin Classes
It is not known what cabin classes Eritrean Airlines has available on its flights, however, we can assume it only offers an Economy level of service due to the layout of the aircraft and routes it operates.

Asmara International Airport
Eritrean Airlines is based at Asmara International Airport. This airport is situated in Asmara, the capital of Eritrea, and is available for military and public use. Asmara International Airport was first built in 1922 by Italian colonial authorities. During World War II, the airport was almost destroyed by British forces and was later renovated in the 1950s. Flight routes were very limited up until the 1990s when Eritrea gained its independence, making the airport a gateway into East Africa with international flights.
Presently, the airport sees flights operated by EgyptAir, Ethiopian Airlines, flydubai, Sudan Airways, Tarco Aviation and Turkish Airlines.

As of July 2020, Eritrean Airlines' fleet consisted of one aircraft - the Boeing 737-300. The airline also has other aircraft in storage including six Dornier aircraft.
