Founded in 2018, Air Albania is the flag carrier of Albania. The airline operates scheduled passenger services and predominantly flies a single service between its hub airport, Tirana International Airport, and Istanbul Airport. The carrier is a joint venture between the Albanian and Turkish Governments, as well as the Turkish national carrier, Turkish Airlines.
The airline flew its inaugural flight on 19th April 2019, with a service between Tirana and Istanbul, using an aircraft wet-leased from Turkish Airlines. It aims to be the leading Albanian airline, giving passengers ease of travel throughout the country and connecting Albania with the rest of Europe and beyond. Through 2022, the airline has been growing its route network, including new flights to Turkey.
Air Albania has a different baggage policy for carry-on and checked baggage. As a standard, you'll be allowed to bring a personal item with you on board.
All passengers are entitled to bring 1 item of cabin baggage on board with them. However, this should not exceed 8kg in weight, this includes cabin cases.
Air Albania also offers all of their passengers to travel with 1 checked case, however, your fare ticket will determine your luggage allowance. If you are flying on an 'Economy Promo' or 'Economy' ticket then you are entitled to bring 30kg of checked luggage. Passengers travelling with a 'Business Promo' ticket are allowed to travel with 40kg.
Air Albania has 2 official cabins - Economy and Business class.
The economy Class cabin offers a great service on all flights consisting of up to 160 leather seats. As well as complimentary luggage passengers are treated to a complimentary inflight meal.
Air Albania doesn't offer a business class cabin onboard its aircraft meaning all passengers receive the same seat and onboard experience. However, the airline does offer a 'Business' fare meaning passengers will receive extra luggage and some additional flight flexibilities.
No inflight entertainment including Wifi facilities has been installed on the airline's aircraft. The airline doesn't provide any reading materials including an inflight magazine. We, therefore, recommend you bring your own entertainment for the duration of the flight.
Air Albania offers all of their passenger's complimentary drinks and snacks on all of their services.
When flying with Air Albania you must check in at the airport.
Air Albania doesn't currently offer online check-in
All passengers will need to check-in upon arrival at the airport by heading to the Air Albania desks. Air Albania states that this is free for all passengers but has not published its opening and closing times. We always recommend you arrive at the airport no later than 90 minutes prior to your scheduled departure.
Air Albania doesn't currently offer a frequent flyer program for you to subscribe to.
The airline is not a constituent member of any airline alliance. However, it is part-owned by Turkish Airlines so may have some partnerships with the airline and its subsidiary airlines.
