National Park of American Samoa

Did you know that the National Park of American Samoa is the only US national park situated south of the equator? The park, first established in 1988, spans across the islands of Tutuila, Ofu and Ta'u (approximately 13,500 acres!).

Within these islands, you'll find thick tropical rainforests, volcanic mountains, spotless beaches and thriving coral reefs. The park is home to all kinds of unique wildlife native to American Samoa including the Samoa flying fox and over 950 species of fish.

If you'd like to visit the National Park of American Samoa, you'll need to reach the park's visitor centre, located in Pago Pago. This is accessible by car and short hikes, however, you'll need to book inter-island flights or boat transfers to reach Ofu and Ta'u.

Ofu Beach

Ofu Beach is situated on Ofu Island. It can be described as a 2.5-mile-long stretch of white sand decorated with picturesque palm trees, set against the majestic backdrop of Sunu'itao Peak.

Ofu Beach is about 60 miles east of Tutuila. Its remote location means that access to the beach can be quite challenging if you don't plan your trip properly. We recommend getting to Ofu Beach by flying from Pago Pago International Airport to Ofu's airstrip.

Once you reach Ofu Beach, you'll be enamoured with its crystal-clear waters and thriving coral reefs. If you enjoy snorkelling, Ofu Beach is the ideal location.
