Citywing was a virtual airline based in the Isle of Man that operated flights from 2012 to 2019. Citywing primarily offered scheduled flights within the British Isles with a focus on connecting the Isle of Man with various destinations in the UK and Ireland. Since Citywing was a virtual airline, it leased aircraft and crew from other operators but didn't own any aircraft themselves. This allowed them to be flexible and adapt their fleet and routes based on demand.
Citywing offered convenient connections to Manchester, Leeds, Bradford, Belfast, Glasgow, Dublin and Cork. It operated its flights with the Let L-410 Turbolet aircraft, known for its short-field performance and suitability for regional routes.
Unfortunately, Citywing faced many challenges including competition from major carriers and the loss of its operating licence for one of its key partners, Van Air Europe. Citywing temporarily partnered with Sprint Air but ultimately couldn't secure a sustainable partnership to continue operations. As a result of this, Citywing announced its closure in 2017.
Citywing likely allowed passengers to bring onboard one carry-on bag and one personal item. The carry-on baggage could not weigh more than 10kg or exceed the maximum dimensions of 55 x 40 x 20cm.
One checked bag may have been permitted per passenger, with a weight limit of 20kg.
Citywing offered online check-in. Passengers could check in online 24 hours before departure. Citywing also had a mobile app, allowing passengers to check in online via their mobile devices.
For passengers who couldn't check in online, airport check-in was available.
