Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport (IATA: CHA) also known as Lovell Field, is an airport that has more than 61,000 airport operations each year. The airport serves cities within the United States. It has an area of 950 acres, owns two runways and in 2018 it had 488,000 departing passengers. Airline service is provided by United Express, Delta Air Lines, American Eagle and Allegiant Air.

The airport is located 5 miles (8 km) east downtown Chattanooga, in Hamilton County, Tennessee.

Runways

Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport (Lovell Field) features two asphalt runways:

  • Runway 2/20: Measuring 7,400 feet (2,256 meters) in length and 150 feet (46 meters) in width.
  • Runway 15/33: Measuring 5,575 feet (1,699 meters) in length and 150 feet (46 meters) in width.

Both runways have grooved surfaces to enhance traction and are maintained in good condition. Runway 2/20 is outfitted with high-intensity edge lighting, while Runway 15/33 has medium-intensity edge lighting. These runways support various aircraft operations, accommodating both commercial and general aviation traffic.

How to get to Chattanooga Airport

By Road

There are numerous taxi companies that provide taxicab services at the Airport. If you need a taxi, you can follow the signs leading to the ground transportation area on a 24-hour basis. It takes only 18 minutes to the Chattanooga City centre by taxi. All taxis are metered and reservations aren't required.


By Public Transport

Chattanooga Airport is served by two bus routes. Number 19 serves the airport on a regular basis while the number five is a dial-a-route, you need to call (423) 629-1473 for service 30 minutes before your pick-up.


By Rental Car
