Berniq Airways was established in February 2019. Berniq Airways is a private airline based at Benghazi Benina International Airport, in Benghazi, Libya. The carrier's main shareholder is Libya's Bank of Commerce and Development. The airline launched in 2021 with a weekly Benghazi to Tripoli service. The airline also hopes to extend its route network in the near future to include flights to destinations including Alexandria, Amman, Istanbul and Tunis.

Berniq Airways currently only operates a single domestic route, between the cities of Benghazi and Tripoli.
In the future, the airline has plans to extend this route network to include a number of international destinations, including: Alexandria, in Egypt; Amman, in Jordan, Istanbul in Turkey, and Tunis, in Tunisia.
