Aleutian Airways is a commercial airline based in Juneau, Alaska, USA. The airline was founded by a joint venture between Wexford Capital, Alaska Seaplanes and McKinley Alaska Private Investment LCC. Flights for Aleutian Airways will be marketed under the company name but flights are operated by Sterling Airways, an airline owned by Wexford Capital.
Initially, Aleutian Airways is flying to 11 destinations regionally from its base Juneau. Destinations include Angoon, Gustavus, Haines, Hoonah, Kake, Skagway, etc. Flights are operated using a fleet of Saab 2000 aircraft acquired from PenAir.
Aleutian Airways operates a different baggage policy depending on whether you've got checked baggage or carry-on.
Items carried onboard are subject to airport security checks. No prohibited items are allowed onboard including any fluid exceeding 100ml. Containers with liquid must be placed in a plastic bag for security checks.
Carry-on items must fit within the overhead lockers and under the seats. Aleutian Airways reserves the right to refuse any items onboard for safety and security reasons.
You are entitled to a piece of 23kg (50lbs) checked baggage for your flight. Any excess/oversized baggage are subject to an additional charge for flights with the airline.
Any checked baggage exceeding 32kg won't be accepted by the airline due to international health and safety regulations.
Aleutian Airways passengers must check in at the airport since the airline doesn't offer online check-in.
Online check-in isn't available for the airline. You must check-in at the airport, so we recommend you to arrive at the airport early for check-in.
You can check-in at the airport when you arrive at the airport. Once you arrive at the airport, report directly to the airport check-in counters as soon as possible to check in and obtain your boarding pass for your flight.
At Alternative Airlines, we recommend you to arrive at the airport two hours before the scheduled departure time to have sufficient time for check-in and boarding.
