Air Montenegro, previously named 2 Montenegro (To Montenegro), is the flag carrier of Montenegro as Montenegro Airlines suspended operations as a result of COVID-19. The airline launched in June 2021 and is based out of either Podgorica Airport (TGD) or Tivat Airport (TIV).
The airline is a direct replacement of Montenegro Airlines and will be adopting a lot of the routes that Montenegro Airlines previously flew. Some of the aircraft that were flown on the Montenegro Airlines network could be taken by Air Montenegro, including the Embraer E195.
Initially, the airline is flying to Belgrade, Ljubljana and Frankfurt, with more destinations to follow.
Air Montenegro launched in June 2021 and is available to book through Alternative Airlines. When you book through Alternative Airlines, you can pay the way you want, including PayPal or Klarna.

Air Montenegro has different baggage policies for carry-on and checked baggage.
Passengers can carry one carry-on bag, which must have a maximum weight of up to 8 kg. The sum of its dimensions (including wheels, handles and external pockets) must not exceed 115 cm (eg 55x40x20 cm).
Passengers should follow the airline policy on hand luggage allowance. Carry-on items must fit within the overhead lockers or under the seat in front in the aircraft. Otherwise, passengers must transport the item as checked baggage.
Prohibited items must be stored in checked baggage, including any fluid exceeding 100ml. If passengers were to travel with any fluid, it must be within 100ml and packed within a plastic bag for airport security check.
The checked baggage allowance will depend on the ticket fare and cabin class of the passenger. Passengers flying with an Economy ticket are entitled to one 23kg bag. Passengers flying in Business Class are entitled to two 23kg checked bags. The total dimensions of each bag must not exceed 158 cm.
Air Montenegro has 2 cabin classes - economy and business class.
Passengers can sit comfortably in a spacious cabin, with adjustable armrests, lighting, and air conditioning. There is plenty of storage space for cabin bags and personal items under the seats and in the overhead storage containers.
During the flight, light meal, snacks and beverages will be available to purchase (charges apply).
Business Class is separated from the Economy Class passengers. Passengers can enjoy extra personal space and seat width, with more recline. Business Class passengers will be attended to by dedicated flight attendants.
Business Class passengers will receive priority services including priority boarding, and can enjoy additional baggage allowance.
Information about Air Montenegro's check-in closing and opening times hasn't been announced yet.
Online check-in is not currently available.
Details of airport check-in haven't been announced yet.
At Alternative Airlines, we recommend passengers should arrive at the airport two hours before the scheduled departure time, so it leaves sufficient time for check-in and boarding. Passengers should always report to the airline check-in desks as soon as they arrive.
Any passengers arriving late at the airport may result in the loss of fare and tickets may not be refunded.
Air Montenegro hasn't currently got a frequent flyer programme. In the future, the airline may reinstate the reward programme of Montenegro Airline, where customers could earn points from flying with the airline or spend with their partner. Customers would then be able to spend their miles/points on airline tickets or spend them with the partners.
Air Montenegro hasn't announced any plans to join any airline alliances yet, but the airline may have codeshare/interline agreements with partner airlines.
The airline is currently flying to a limited number of international destinations in Europe, initially including: Belgrade, Ljubljana and Frankfurt. In the long term, the airline is expected to fly internationally to destinations including London, Vienna, St Petersburg, Munich, Paris, Lyon, Copenhagen and many more.
